| 2. Acetylene plant |
Not an excellent shot, but about the closest view one can find of the red brick house from the opposite shore. Around this area, where trucks and containers hang today, there used to be the Western Aura river shipyard.
Back on the East banks, approaching the house from East. There's a narrow slice of bushes between the built yard and fences, and it felt wise to proceed hidden in the bushes as much as possible.
The building where acetylene for needs of hundreds of welding and flame cutting nozzles was produced is a bit unusual red brick construction.
Handy combination text: handling fire and access forbidden.
Obviously the building has been cold for long. They seem to have abandoned it after shipbuilding turned into repairing, since disrepair would not proceed to this level in just a couple of years.
Nice lamp from the old times.
Pressure gauges at a landing between bare hill and the building.
Scenery consists of rock.
Writer's have discovered the interesting location, but amount of graffiti is meager considering the building's been unused for long.
Function of this pipe installation is...?
Another of those nice valves.
Tank.
Neat cracks.
Staircase, and what kind of staircase: steps so steep, such you could expect to find from a boat or a ship. How appropriate!
Top landing of the space saving stairs.
This bolt peeking out of the wall is LARGE, a property which the photo fails to show. Perhaps the spray painted stripes, which cross just a small section of the baseplate give hint of the scale.
On top level.
A quick check out the window revealed how Sunday shift workers of the engine factory executed the sc. Italian strike, which sent the factory's production figures into a tailspin before closing. No hurries.
Turku is tvåspråkigt town, and perhaps they've had some swedish workers also here. Everything important, like denial signs, is in two languages.

"Use hand dusch for first aid in case limestone gets into your eyes"
Unbroken mirror, but do I still see something strange in the reflection...?
Yes!
Relay boxes.
Also these switchboxes were attached to the outside wall of the building.
