Virenoja brick factory remainings

Just another proof of the power of networking is that this target is nowadays documented by many on the internet. Thomas Da' Scrap hinted in "big Q" that someone could go and check the place out, and result is a myriad of photographs, and airsofters wondering why so many strange people keep on coming to their game site.

The oldest parts of the brickworks were finished in 1928, when the production started here. There were a few other brick producers in Orimattila, but eventually this was the most remarkable of them. A lot of expanding occurred at the facility in the 1950's and 60's. The unexpected end came in Midsummer evening 1975, when the factory burned. It wasn't rebuilt.

The fire destroyed all the old, wooden parts of the brickworks. Some of the extensions were of concrete and bricks, which saved them to our times. The ruined remains still have many users: airsofters, and a bunch of UE people.
