dm-r10-kur_velsa05 Access had to be gained via a window. The door was too stuck. The open window leads to the steamer room, which as a small surprise still has the main stuff - the steamer - installed. Free space is occupied by unfinished products of the owner firm(s), window frames.
dm-r10-kur_velsa11 Here an explorer makes an inventory of the steamer.
dm-r10-kur_velsa03 dm-r10-kur_velsa04 Strategic information of the steamer has been cast and painted to the body. Produced in Theft by Ahlström's workshops, a looong time ago.
dm-r10-kur_velsa01 Here the steamer itself.
dm-r10-kur_velsa02 These marks stamped to the wall are the lead between the big factory in central of the town and these ruins. Obviously the sawmill's mark has been Velsa and thus it must have been the supplier of timber, which was then processed to sleighs, wagons and other stuff by the owner.
dm-r10-kur_velsa06 There's a risk of asbestos even in places like this. Of course we had respirators - in the car trunk.
dm-r10-kur_velsa08 Pressure gauge up to just 76 mmHg.
dm-r10-kur_velsa09 Valve..
dm-r10-kur_velsa12 Ceiling of the boiler room as seen from the entrance.
dm-r10-kur_velsa14 Windows totally missing.
dm-r10-kur_velsa27 Boiler doors.
dm-r10-kur_velsa13 The boiler, which has also kindly been let to lay in peace in it's crypt, exposed. Oh, and the tube count is: 102.
dm-r10-kur_velsa25 Peek to smoke channel below the fuel feeding platform reveals some very, very rusty stuff.
dm-r10-kur_velsa18 Violator gives a demonstration of sooting work. Now, look closely.
dm-r10-kur_velsa17 Husssssh! And suddenly black soot spread all over the room, making air look real dusty. Last machinist had been lazy cleaning the boiler.
dm-r10-kur_velsa16 Plenty of fuel still left in the storage.
dm-r10-kur_velsa20 The ladder to top of the boiler.
dm-r10-kur_velsa21 The steam pipe with all insulation and valves looks like a mutant-something. Very vague appearance.
dm-r10-kur_velsa23 Side shutter of the boiler.
