Continuing from page 1, this painting was found from the small room straight forward from the stairs. It pictures what the factory has produced and how.
And on the left, some kind of room for experimenting with electricity. An electric lab, that is.
A cabinet for unknown purpose.
Product of a cable factory from Helsinki.
Laboratory power supplies?? Heavy stuff!
Strömberg's product.
We wondered long what the heck this kettle-like thing was, but apparently it's just a heater for the grease. If not heated, that stuff is _very_ stiff.
Violator managed to take a permanent souvenir home by (accidentally) attaching some of this grease to his trousers. It will doubtlessly never fade.
A barrel of 99.5% ethanol, quite interesting! We didn't open it to see if there was any left.
What could this have been?
Upper floor of the two-storey part has been production area. So if you encounter pre-1980's Valmet lifts, they probably come from here.
Door dividing office wing from the workshop.
What?? Competitor's elevator in an elevator factory?? Some could explain that it's so old that Valmet didn't even make elevators when this was installed, but still, what travesty.
A bit poor word ordering, but the message is clear. Then again, maximum load of the elevator was only 750 kg so what would be the reason to drive it with a forklift anyway?
Even the floor tiles had been removed. Must have been an interesting task to complete.
Gas for heating the tiles.
View to South was not that breathtaking.
New looking air duct, considering the building had been cold since 1992.
Seems to be light steel rod and pipe storage.
Spare parts for the terminal machines, most probably.
These 16mm films, some in colour and some b/w, demonstrated the capabilities of Valmet logging machines.
Bottom floor was suitable for heavier works.
The main production hall and lots of support beams forming a passage in the middle.
Do you remember what special happened on the 11th of December, 1987? - Latka was at work (it was Saturday).
Again not a very special view out of the windows. Where there should be outdoor there is... A shelf??
Yes, and this side was not unused. A new expansion wing with automatic storage hummed behind the wall.
Now hear this all vandals in Tampere region, you have missed a lot. Imagine the sound of jumping on this pile with heavy boots..
The smaller hall on bottom floor looked like this.
The hall's ceiling.
Extractor's control box from the time when such boxes looked cool.
Not only electric, but also pneumatic controls available.
