2. Elevator factory: Production premises
colourline

dm-tpe_valmet42 Continuing from page 1, this painting was found from the small room straight forward from the stairs. It pictures what the factory has produced and how.
dm-tpe_valmet36 And on the left, some kind of room for experimenting with electricity. An electric lab, that is.
dm-tpe_valmet33 A cabinet for unknown purpose.
dm-tpe_valmet34 Product of a cable factory from Helsinki.
dm-tpe_valmet35 Laboratory power supplies?? Heavy stuff!
dm-tpe_valmet37 Strömberg's product.
dm-tpe_valmet40 We wondered long what the heck this kettle-like thing was, but apparently it's just a heater for the grease. If not heated, that stuff is _very_ stiff.
dm-tpe_valmet38 Violator managed to take a permanent souvenir home by (accidentally) attaching some of this grease to his trousers. It will doubtlessly never fade.
dm-tpe_valmet39 A barrel of 99.5% ethanol, quite interesting! We didn't open it to see if there was any left.
dm-tpe_valmet41 What could this have been?
dm-tpe_valmet11 Upper floor of the two-storey part has been production area. So if you encounter pre-1980's Valmet lifts, they probably come from here.
dm-tpe_valmet13 Door dividing office wing from the workshop.
dm-tpe_valmet53 What?? Competitor's elevator in an elevator factory?? Some could explain that it's so old that Valmet didn't even make elevators when this was installed, but still, what travesty.
dm-tpe_valmet54 A bit poor word ordering, but the message is clear. Then again, maximum load of the elevator was only 750 kg so what would be the reason to drive it with a forklift anyway?
dm-tpe_valmet16 Even the floor tiles had been removed. Must have been an interesting task to complete.
dm-tpe_valmet18 Gas for heating the tiles.
dm-tpe_valmet17 View to South was not that breathtaking.
dm-tpe_valmet19 New looking air duct, considering the building had been cold since 1992.
dm-tpe_valmet20 Seems to be light steel rod and pipe storage.
dm-tpe_valmet21 Spare parts for the terminal machines, most probably.
dm-tpe_valmet22 These 16mm films, some in colour and some b/w, demonstrated the capabilities of Valmet logging machines.
dm-tpe_valmet64 Bottom floor was suitable for heavier works.
dm-tpe_valmet59 The main production hall and lots of support beams forming a passage in the middle.
dm-tpe_valmet61 Do you remember what special happened on the 11th of December, 1987? - Latka was at work (it was Saturday).
dm-tpe_valmet63 Again not a very special view out of the windows. Where there should be outdoor there is... A shelf??
dm-tpe_valmet62 Yes, and this side was not unused. A new expansion wing with automatic storage hummed behind the wall.
dm-tpe_valmet60 Now hear this all vandals in Tampere region, you have missed a lot. Imagine the sound of jumping on this pile with heavy boots..
dm-tpe_valmet66 The smaller hall on bottom floor looked like this.
dm-tpe_valmet69 The hall's ceiling.
dm-tpe_valmet68 Extractor's control box from the time when such boxes looked cool.
dm-tpe_valmet67 Not only electric, but also pneumatic controls available.
