Printing house Uusi Kivipaino was established in 1919. Today the not-so-new-anymore firm continues operations in Tampere, but their former printing house in Epilä was demolished in 2006. Many years before this, printing had ended here and the building was totally occupied by firms and societies. Last users left while demolition of other parts was already going on.

There was only a very limited period to see the building, for the demolition happened so quickly. We advantaged one sunny late winter morning to check the place. It was Saturday, but some guys were sorting scrap and rubble at the yard. What was left was basically a deconstruction site with only some traces of last users, almost nothing from times of printing house. However, remembering a building from long time ago and then seeing it empty and ripped has a special feel to it.
