Found completely by accident, this pair of strange houses in Suonenjoki became the first target of train trip in summer 2005. The two houses are located near the railway station, on a plot with great view to a lake. Maybe not for very long to come.

The grey house, which is bigger, has atleast later served as a dormitory for (apparently) older people. Its layout and unusually big size tell that maybe it was also designed to be such. The yellow house is more common type house, but due to its location it must be somehow connected to the grey one. People have lived in the grey building still in 1995, but the yellow house may have been empty longer. Its extremely weak condition must have taken quite a long time to develop.

In February 2008, the grey house suffered a fire. The house wasn't completely destroyed, but a homeless person, apparently also responsible for starting the fire, died.
