| 5. Mother's milk era |

As light returned to the sky, we went to see the other buildings soon to vanish. The most anti-architectonic and boring of them was a former test kitchen (whatever that means) and meeting house.
It said Aleksanterinkatu 22, Tampere on the door, but that sure as hell wasn't correct. That's the street where new born Violator was carried from the hospital once upon a time, and that place is far from here!! Also the camera surveillance sticker seemed to be slight exaggeration.
The house claimed to be Aleksanterinkatu had burned.
Rooms, yawn.
Nothing too special.
Apparent former garage was too junky to be checked, and additionally it had also been arsoned.
Maybe burning houses that will be demolished isn't a great crime against humanity, but why, why??
One of the oldest houses, maybe a former store. It repeated the same pattern, arsoned.
The house of the dairy, later converted to a small slaughterhouse was built in the beginning of 20th century. Roughly 100 years later is was torn down.
For change, this building wasn't arsoned. From the bottom floor we found exciting textiles, furnishing of the jazz happening.
Psychedelic colours inside were result of these curtains.
hmmm?
Another empty jazz bar wasn't highly interesting, but they hadn't let the people to the upstairs. Again it got better here.
Upstairs held old rooms practically untouched for long time.
Wardrobes, tens of good unused wardrobes.
At this point came a small suspicion: from behind which corner will the resident of the place attack? Well, he or she wasn't around, or didn't want to encounter.
Clock showing rather close to the actual time, probably it was dead anyway.
My guess would be this commercial was launched shortly after Finland winning the 1995 ice hockey world championships.
Around 20 years old Seura magazine seemed to have even crappier frontpage stuff than today. Can it be?? At least the article about a german man, who survived a killing sounds a bit odd..
Could this be the cage where the bird downstairs escaped?
The neighbor house had later housed some kind of meeting rooms and perhaps office space.
While demolition of the slaughterhouse was just about to start, construction of new houses had already proceeded far on the adjacent plot. Excavators etc. had digged the ground between the buildings to a non-walkable condition.
So close to the center of the city, it's a bit surprising to find totally unbuilt land like this. Surely the residents of new blocks in Karjaranta have a good view to North.
