5. The Power Plant
colourline

The plywood and chipwood mills had a dedicated power station to supply heat and maybe steam. The plant is here to the left on the hill.
Trying to picture the corner with conveyors where waste sawdust was hauled from the mills to the power station.
Power station was generally low-detailed and not very interesting. This was because the demolishers had continued to work on the power station and it's adjacent oil tank after the actual factory's demolition was suspended.
I'm not sure if this can be called a power station any more.
Interior was quickly checked, despite the station wasn't unusually small in size. One of teh few remaining items inside was the root part of a boiler.
Filmed from both sides. All the steel catwalks, pipes, valves and the boiler are missing and so are some of the walls.
A condenser can still be found from this small room. Generators, meter panels and all other instrumentation had already been taken away.
Hmmm! I think this is what's left of the boiler at the bottom level, which was hardly accessible.
A peek inside the boiler's root from on of the hatches that were awfully heavy to move. Rust had jammed them all shut.
Use your imagination to guess what was here once upon a time.. Now it can't be figured.
They had even left a car and excavator right in front of the power station. Deconstruction work would probably continue next monday.
The plant had burned oil and sawdust (and other dry materials), so there probably were two boilers, one for heating and one for other power. The piping leads to the plant from the quite sizy oil tank.
There was an extra concrete layer protecting the tank, and stone foundations made sure nothing would break it.
Overview pic once again.
