| 2. Felt factory |
A door at the main entrance. For some reason it had been boarded from inside.
Social premises, I suppose. It's quite hard to tell because the mess was total as this shows.
The cat hotel was the best kept room inside the building. Toys, water and food cups, scratching boards and so on. The smell here was exactly like you may guess.
The cats weren't too scary type.
Sekunda jo eläessään
Stepping to the main production hall.
At first seems very empty. There is mess and graffiti though.
Supervisor's booth was boarded from inside. Someone had tagged a commercial of an IRC-channel there.
Stap had done some of the best graffitis ever here and there.
No asbestos containing insulations. Here they used felt.
There was some exhibition here once, perhaps we'll never know what kind of exhibition.
Piece of furniture.
You already know who this is.
In the newer part of the factory there were still machines. And here, some production related junk.
The year markings 1997, 1998 must be from times when felt production was scaled down and moved to another location.
Here we have deconstructed machines. Let's look closer..
Yes, it's a Singer.
This was made in Germany's nowadays most post-industrial city, Chemnitz, before 1950's.
Toothwheels from golden age of mechanical industry.
Toothwheels again.
A lot of green felt was left to nearby of another machine.
I really don't know what it is. Any ideas?
Another view to the mystic object.
Now to the upper storey, which contained smaller rooms.
Except for smaller rooms, the second storey was pretty much the same.
Writings everywhere.
Messed, but a special round shelf was still around.
Another room.
A lot of leftover raw materials here.
Some textile technical data table in french.

The factory had used Tampella's linen threads for production.
Unfinished felt was spread all over the upper storey, also to the attic part.
The meter reading is.... ??
Drier it seems to be.
Fuses for machines, including hammer.
