3. The Sawmill and The Mill and hash
colourline

Vampula belongs to that minority of Finnish municipalities that don't have any lakes in their territory. However, there is a river flowing by. This saw-mill combination just a few hundred meters to the highway's direction from the ruins has been powered by the rapids.
Dam hatches and bridge.
A. Harakka's mill and sawmill, no more explanations needed.
Countryside industrialism.
The mill section.
The wide low part must be the sawmill, but we didn't check the place better because of the chainsaw man already mentioned on the parent page.
We did check the junk at the yard though. Something big is concealed under the tarpaulins.
Hey, a huge connecting rod?
Karhula and Ahlström can without a doubt be connected to Finnish sawmill machine constructioning so we suddenly became interested in the junk.
Yeah, a sawing line, roller conveyors and stuff. The stuff obviously comes form the adjacent sawmill and since there's so much stuff outside, the smallish building is probably very empty of original equipment from inside. Another reason why it was not so essential to enter the buildings.
So nostalgic wheels.
Despite the fact that is lies against the flourishing field, this is the top of the sawing machine and it's crown, the plate.
The river is not wide, an above average athlete would probably leap over it without getting wet. Still there has been a ferry cruising the way there and back. However, a bridge was being constructed when we were around. Here the old ferry is already uselessly floating, as the minimum traffic used a temporary bridge to cross the river.
