The smokestack which, again, was the thread that lead us to a place which otherwise would probably have remained unknown to us forever.
Same subject seen from the mill's junk fillt yard.
Looking closer at the tip of the smokestack reveals a fact that the pipe isn't in very good condition. Somehow it has survived the fire that has taken away almost everything around it, but deformation of the top will probably drop it down sooner or later.
Now to the ruins. Because the hydropower (saw)mill's yard that we checked first had big gang saws lying around, we thought the smoke stack (and ruins) would belong to a sawmill's boiler. But when we got here, the shape of what remains corrected us that it was a brick kiln we just found.
The kiln has gone into weird condition. Only the strongest beams have stood fire, or whatever took the place down. Once a helluva hot chamber, now offers a cool view towards the blue sky.
The ruins are quite photographical.
Another view..
There were some items left, like this bucket.
More items saved from fire.
Violator. Since 1997 (right photo) nothing seems to have changed.
