History of brick production in the the village of Leppäkoski goes back to 1847. An Estonian businessman developed the original factory, which saw bankcrupticies, fires, expansions and usual event during 130 years of operation. Basic bricks and later smokestack bricks were produced until the year 1987, which brought not only ceasing production but also partial demolition of the factories. Therefore, all that is left now is ruined, roofless factory and scrap at the yard, which will be cleaned away soon.
