Oriveden Puutuote Ky carpentry shop, Orivesi

Front yard

There's a carpentry shop and a small timber firm on hill Kiikanmäki, a rock-throw away from Violator's home in the nineties. We didn't care for the place then, despite passing by it daily, but some years ago we realised that the sawmill at their plot is actually out of use and thus a potential exploration target. Orivesi, also known as Stallionwater is the town we're speaking of.

The name Oriveden Puutuote was taken to use in 1964, when the carpentry shop moved to the place from another location in nearby. That's when the small sawmill was built. The firm produced, and continues to do so, mostly doors and windows. Apparently they've originally sawed more timber as there's a dedicated small mill with circular saws that's since been abandoned. Nothing mind-blowing, nothing spectacular or very rare can be found from here. It's just a small, nice place to visit.
