The now-forgotten yard used to be full of tracks, and tanking the equipment - whether they used water, diesel oil or something else - was performed here. One tanking crane in front, and the turntable behind it.
Sunnier view to a similar subject.
Light switch for dark hours I would guess.
Fuel tanks below the yard have been digged away during the soil cleanup after tracks were deconstructed. But some pipes and wells with a notable stench of fuel oil remain around the area.
In the future the depot yard will be converted to housing and office area. On what schedule and scale is yet unclear. Before building anything bigger, it would be a good idea to make some close inspections of the soil's current state. With this kind of stuff still being around, there might be something interesting under the dirt.
Power outlet stands in the bushes. During past winters of 20th century, it may have supplied electricity for engine heaters of locomotives such as Dr12, Dv12 and Dr13 (R.I.P).
This neat brick house, built 1931 has served as fuel and oil related warehouse.
For some reason the oil house has also a direct pipe connection to the square water tower. It goes from the center to the left and is still intact.
The modern kind of water tower North of the depot stands as a traffic divider in front of the new railway station. It's not abandoned, except in that sense that it naturally isn't used for tanking steam locomotives any more.
Many interesting buildings. The preserved water tower, the oil house, and the former roller mill, which rises above everything also in the center of this town.
Plate lying near the oil house.
Caretaking of the oil house has been decreased to zero level. Local youth seem to hang around here pretty much, spend time and booze.
"Fuck this wall" - How far can frustration go..
After entering, one can surely guess what has been the function of this building. Reek of oil is strong, amazingly strong.
In case you thought the railways' importance for Pm was exaggerated in the intro words of the front page, check these tags.
Some kind of oil dumping well.
The windows were boarded once.
Oil pumps have been controlled from here.
And as a matter of fact, here are some pumps.
No doubt, social democrats have ruled this house.
Not quite the kind of refuelling device found at gas stations..
