Back To Several Places In Finland
1. The Industrial Area of Kupittaa, Turku
colourline
The place is no more.

This grain elevator of Hankkija-Pikatukku stood empty in Kupittaa, city of Turku. We found the place completely by mistake while just intending to pass by the city and drive home. But ofcourse we had to check out this very interesting site.
The low shelter at the left side is accessible, but there was nothing very interesting.
The building was mighty, although parts of it had already been taken down. With those parts went probably the easy ways to access to place, which the writers have taken advantage of. There were new IT-firm buildings surrounding the place so it was no surprise that the next time we visited the city this elevator no longer existed.
Painters haven't much cared about all the city hassle around the building. They've also done lots of pieces to heights. All the holes in the beton like windows are carefully boarded, so no more painting inside. And no explorations.
Inside the shelter behind the building there were various vehicles.
Also a sort of vehicle in the same place.
Kupittaa has also lots of other industrial sites. There was an old bicycle factory just being demolished, and an office building also being ripped down. This chimney's surroundings have already vanished but they've left the tower.
Quite a root it's got.
