Nurmon Osuuskauppa mill, Nurmo
colourline

b/w facade

Just North-East of the Wall River city, there is the small but industrialised municipality Nurmo. The local cooperative store was organized in 1906, and it continued activities typical for such store independently until 1970 and merging to cooperative store of Seinäjoki. It had two mills, one quite a small one and one a bit bigger. This bigger mill contained also farming goods store. Being owned by a Pellervo-movement dominated store it got to continue quite long, regardless of how profitable it was. Somewhere in the 1980's the mill and store were finally closed and the building now stands completely abandoned.
