Nokoorinkoski power station, Urjala
colourline

Places like this can only be found if you know exactly what to search and where. The small, abandoned water power station lurks in the forests of Urjala and is slowly turning into ruins. Historic details are unknown to us, but it seems to be a typical countryside water power station, which has been privately owned and has powered some small-scale industry, or maybe a house or two.

dm-urj_nokoorinkoski19 The river Tarpianjoki is not a big stream, but here in Nokoori it falls some meters with more power.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski01 Water flows freely now that the dams have rotten and the turbine channel is dry.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski17 The actual power station. Sight was surprising. For some reason, in my mind old power stations in the countryside are always built of red bricks, and this doesn't meet the standard.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski16 Upstream side of the water channel below the brick building is nearly dry. So you can take a closer look there.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski03 Without rubber boots, one can't walk all the way to the wheels.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski05 In the middle of duct. There was some little water on the bottom, and it didn't look very inviting. Anyway, some small fishes made an escape from their haven as soon as we stepped close.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski04 Like you see, the plant has two small turbines. They are straight under the generator room, so that spinning power has gone directly to the generators.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski08 Channel as seen from the generator room.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski06 These ruins surround the water channel. Could it be that there has been some small industrial facility here? Or atleast a private workshop.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski23 Same ruins.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski07 This doorway is bigger than it looks here. You can easily walk through it.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski02 More ruins in the forest.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski18 Something newer, but ruined.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski21 Dam bridge. Shutters are missing or very weak conditioned.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski12 Interior of the generator house is highly unstripped. Wheels, bevel gears, rubber belts and even generators are still on their original place. With some fixing, this place could actually operate.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski13 That's somebody's summer cottage there! Otherwise there's nothing in nearby.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski15 The genarators are 110 V. There must have been some certain user, who has used this voltage.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski14 Seems that wherever you go, if there are meters, they always have the same maker. Siemens & Halske made also this one.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski09 Tiny switch for a panel like this.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski10 Nice, also tiny, wheel.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski11 Some product of Asea.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski24 Transforming booth is separated of the power station, and it's situated surprisingly far from it.
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski25 The roof is where?
dm-urj_nokoorinkoski26 Anothes ruins and something vanished.
