power station in mid-winter

If you travel West (traffic-technically South) of Pieksämäki by train and look to South at the right place, you can't miss the sight of this former sawmill by a lake. Anybody can see it's a ruin no longer in use.

Sawmill and a dairy have been the most important employers in Niemisjärvi village, South of the central of Hankasalmi. Both have been closed a long time ago. The sawmill's area has seen different industry after timber times: plywood production, plastic pipe production, and recently some kind of metal work. The old power station is the most remarkbale ruin, but there is more to see at this place, which, like a man working here commented, has seen it's best days.
