| 3. Steam tunnel |
The tunnel connects heat station to most of the buildings. The straight part is about 200 meters long and maintains a steady temperature.
Valve at a junction.
A crossing pipe only-tunnel goes towards East.
Cables and thinner pipes. A nice thing is the tunnel has not been ripped or deconstructed very much.
There are couple of wider sections between the trip, where pipes crisscross, and you may also find some access points to the dairy.
This floor is damper than it should be..
This is a "hidden" access point to the dairy.
Quite rusty.. Anyway it was only a decade earlier that the plant was in use.
Konepaja A. Grönroos, Turku has produced something here..
A remaining electric pump! Not to be found too often..
Access denied it says, and it was easy to obey since the steel door was locked. Well, some time later it was no longer locked..
It took a new trip to find the route past the locked door. From this side it could also have been unlocked, but there was no need any more since the secret route had been found.
Acid and lye, both have traveled this tunnel.
Distribution point.
Plate of Valmet recorder instrument. Made in Tampere.
Accordion-like springs connect the long pipelines together.
No artificial light available where it would be needed most.
Shadows and valves.
Another door to unblock, which is not too hard from this side.
This short extension tunnel goes to the most remote parts of dairy, not very interesting since it's a dead end.
At the door of the tunnel, a cool meter greets you.
From the tunnel to basement. Extractors remind of cold war, otherwise it's empty storaging area.
Exit to light.
