Neighbor of the dairy used to be the biggest employer in Mikkeli, the sausage factory of Karjaportti which operated in the red brick buildings. It's now closed, but there is new use.

Here's the dairy itself. Looks boring from outside because of the construction material, but it gets better when in.

This is a nice town in summer time. A row of trees grows between the street and former dairy.

Morning at the courtyard. Quite a few trucks are parked here, because the cold stores have been used by Valio's distribution trucks still some time ago. Apparently also this use has ended.

Many production machines, different kettles and such, still stand at the yard. They're not rusted at all due to an obvious reason.

MKT (Maatalouskonetehdas), Helsinki is the infamous producer of stainless steel stuff and cheese kettles. Like this one.

The heat station is similar looking, boring limestone brick building that has been constructed to only serve it's purpose, not to look fine.

Milk tastes good, but today some Finns will rather buy it imported from Estonia, or even from Poland.

The station has used many kinds of fuels, and the solid ones were fed from here.

A nice location, a bit hidden maybe, but no-one lives here.

The house has been treated with Kaikki paskaks mikä ei oo omaa principle, so it's not a very interesting target.

There have been tenants after closing the dairy, but not for very long. Local newspapers from dark years of 1990's recession.

In late summer evenings, the Rokkala skyline looks sometimes quite psychedelic against the Northern sky.

The smoke stack with notable top catwalk. It's a remarkable landmark in the city. Back in the days it would also guide Violator home after nights with too many consumed liquid doses.
