Mikkeli's first district heating station was built around 1960 to an area, where lots of blocks (small ones, but blocks) rose shortly later. It was old, provided only heat, and became later useless as the network grew. The station had been cold for at least 15 years, when its demolition was sealed in 2005. Being located directly next to houses, the station has remained closed for most of the time, but in 2006 someone broke a window. Once again we were advantaging vandalism.
