3. Mill house - beneath the building & above the silos
This tunnel goes beneath the mill house and it's storage section, rising from a couple of meters below ground to somewhere higher. In intensity, the reek in here resembled the one that we faced in the sawmill of Hieta during our first visits back in the days: first it was almost impossible to breathe, but once you got used to it it was just disgusting. Otherwise the smell is totally different, ofcourse.
The tunnel ends here, which was a relief. We could turn back and face towards fresh air. The section had some outlets with name plates that hinted to animal food, so that's probably what makes the reek a bit special.
It's dark without the flash..
We started inside exploration of the big building from this room, which is mainly for the pipes that would bring grain to the processing silos under us.
The place has tens of pressure gauges attached on the pipes. Usually, nobody would see them indicating anything, as this seemed to be a very deserted section already during operation. There were spider webs and birds on the top floors, just a month after the place was closed. It's nice to know that the flours we eat daily stream through such places when produced.
Another platform and Raiztlin disturbing pigeons.
That conveyor has brought something up here, grain would be a strong guess.
Top of the silos section continues to east. Here the smell got different. Maybe the first section reeked like wheat and the silos under this room contained oat.
Here we have grain pipes similar to the ones in the previous section. What you expected?
Reached the other end of this floor. It's divided into three parts, this is the eastern one.
Here shown the pipes, but also something else. A device, which would lift a brave worker to the silos through the manholes. We passed the chance to experience the trip to dark grain reeking pits ourselves.
