| Home of A. Pahlanen, Kuru |
Far from the center of Kuru and far from anything is a random small village. There are a few houses by the road, and maybe some more further in the woods. A most interesting house was found from here.
The target is a farm with all required buildings for small scale agriculture. It was (obviously built and) resided by Mr. A. Pahlanen, starting from early 1950's and continuing to the end of the Millennium. Once built with endless effort, the farm now stands empty struggling against decay.
Where there are almost no people, there are no vandals. This means that houses like this may stay totally intact for many years. All personal items, papers etc. left to the house can still be found and inspected, which is what makes the place highly interesting. With a little help of imagination one can image the lifeline of a young farmer, who finishes farming school, builds his own house, works hard for decades and expands the farm. He never gets married. As decades pass, the aging master faces increasingly work-related diseases. He retires and eventually moves away to somewhere where living is easier.
Kuru's population is less than 3000, and factually one person named A. Pahlanen lives in Kuru today (situation in 2006). So there are big chances that master of this farm is still alive. If that's the case, he will soon be 80 years old.
