The original nail factory of OTK coooperative store was established to Kylmäkoski, village of Sotkia (name which conceals the OTK-abbreviation - what a coincidence) in 1938. In 1956, manufacturing works were transported to county of Orivesi into motor repair shop estates unused since the war had ended. Nail production there in our former home town continues today. But the old factory in Kylmäkoski didn't get new users and it was left defunct. That's made our trips there possible.

We didn't know of this factory despite it's connections to our home town before seeing a small article of storks - unusual visitors in Finland - residing at an old nail factory. The article was enough to lead us to the place around a year later.
