Jylppy water intaking station, Kotka
colourline

Found totally accidentally, this place is the second abandoned water related station in Kotka we've checked. Perhaps it is a result of real estate policies of Kotka water works, that such places exist or then we've just had luck. Anyway, the place seemed to have been a water intaking station and abandoned for some time, not a very long time though.

dm-r9-kta_pumppu12 We were looking for a good place to stop, eat and read maps when we found this. It was a place to stop, but also to inspect closer.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu03 It wasn't hard to get in, since windows had been broken, but walking through the jungle required some effort.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu04 Even such a small booth had a dedicated transforming section.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu05 Danger, yes, yes.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu06 And ofcourse there had to be the Transformers© too.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu01 Water well and a heavy shutter blocking it's stream when required. The hole had gathered a variety of garbage, but there was plenty of space to fill.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu02 The shutter was hanging from a wire controlled by this primitive winch. It was a bit rusty, but could actually still move the shutter up and down.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu09 The pumping room.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu07 Wells under the pumping room were not any more inviting looking.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu08 It was surprising to find even pumps from here! They are almost always removed, and these are not even old or very small.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu10 Connection strip terminals and switchboxes weren't quite that intact.
dm-r9-kta_pumppu11 Zero to ten bar line pressure gauge.
