| The Sawmill of Koskenkorva, Ilmajoki |
The sawmill in Koskenkorva is a sad case from our early expedition years. The village is infamous of it's grain originating product, but there has also been a sawmill by the river. In 1994, when the yellow bible was written, the place was standing abandoned. In 1998, when we did a night time trip there, there wasn't much to see. This target is definitely included in the top 10 of our "greatest misses".
What was left after soil cleaning and demolition somewhere between 1994-1998, were the drying house, smoke stack and a small pumping booth. Also one workers' flat house at the border of sawmill area is totally abandoned. We revisited the place is 2004 and found out that nothing had changed in 6 years.
