| Keisarinkoski sawmill, Anjalankoski/Hamina |
The water powered sawmill by the river Summajoki, at the border of two South Eastern municipalities was built in 1890. According to the Yellow Bible, it has employed two persons still in the age of one hundred years. But now the mill is terminally closed, and even if still fully equipped, will most probably never run again. Past decades are starting to rot the wooden structures, and what could be done with an old, small sawmill in today's business anyway?
It seems like the building was totally forgotten after ceasing sawing. Clearly it hasn't been taken care of recently. Located remotely by small rapids and an extremely narrow road that has practically no traffic at all, the sawmill is a true, remained relic from the golden age of sawmilling.
