This place was spotted on Vio's trip to Helsinki automation fair show in September 1999.
Hyvinkää is a small city in southern Finland, about 50km north from Helsinki (not so near our homes), so
it's rather seldom that we move around here. That's why this wasn't found any earlier, though the chimney is
quite well visible to the nearby Helsinki highway. That is, if you're not driving, and thus have
a possibility to look at the landscape. Whenever there's a chimney you could expect something more
interesting than greenhouses, but, for some reason they do have a tall chimney here!
The numerous greenhouses are deserted, but there are a couple of houses near the area that are resided.
The good condition of "keep out - private area" sign in the beginning of the road which goes to the area hints
that someone's still slightly interested of the iron-broken glass shacks and doesn't like intruders very much.
The red tile buildings in the area (two of them have chimneys, one small one tall) are un-used, but locked.
They must've been used for something connected to the gardening business, maybe burning of
organic garbage, which they probably had a lot looking at the amount of the greenhouses.
This is a step aside from industrialism, but hmm let's say they were a flower factory?
Hehe, where's the glass? I can't think vandals would be behind this disappereance, since the people living in the detached houses
that are near would probably not tolerate smashing shit up here. There's still quite a lot of broken glass everywhere, so can't tell for sure.
Anyway, this _IS_ the same city where the recent chop-a-body-dump-it-in-trashyard murder was performed by some satanist dicks.
Wild..;P
Artistic picture, or honestly said a wack shot. Early morning sun shines from the direction that should be photographed.. This is the taller chimney that revealed the existence of this area. The building seems to be somebody's tractor garage by now, maybe old garbage incinerator.
The "incinerator building". Too bad the explorer wasn't in a break&enter mood, maybe it would've had something interesting inside.
One of the greenhouses, this one seems to have some windows left. There are lot of skidmarks on the yard and some other signs of activity, maybe this is still used by some gardener, though there are no new greenhouses, just these old shabby ruins.
Inside. Vegetation seems to be doing fine despite the lack of glasses, man it must've been years since these were used..
Probably the same greenhouse as above, view to the wall where some windows were missing and it was possible to enter the jungle. The road goes behind the windows. In a way this is even rather beautiful.
It's abvious they needed some electricity boxes for the lights, also shown quite a lot of old cable.
I've seen several old abandoned refrigerators (who would'nt have?) but not many of them were this rusty.. This may have belonged here originally, not dumped from somewhere later.
Well just like in some factory.. They look like workers' wardrobes, but were probably meant for some gardening equipment.
Not very surprising either, they probably needed water.. ehh.. This seems to be the main water supply to the whole area's greenhouses, or atleast to several of them.
Roof constructions.. There are even young firs growing inside!! How long has this been abandoned?.....
Some scaffolds. The last greenhouse in the left hand row seems to be extremely stripped, just some iron constructions left.
The building with a small chimney. There was a whole lot of junk inside, like old lumber stuff. The reason for the chimney remains unknown.
This is taken at the end of the road, near to a detached house just before leaving.
