Jokisuu was the main unit of Antti Santaholma's private industry, which consisted of three sawmills by the bothnic gulf. It was the first one built, and the last of the three operating. The sawmill was rundown for summer vacation season 1996, and never started again.

Presently the sawmill is strangely peaceful. It's location may fool most out-of-town visitors, but locals must know the place is unused. Still, nothing has been smashed, tagged or arsoned. Even running hot water and switched electricity are still available. Future might see the production area being developed to an authentic steam sawmill museum. It would be the first of it's kind in our country, and it would about the time to get that first one here, since old, well-kept sawmills like this are not numerous any more.
