The Plywood Factory (da tehdas)

The plywood factory in Lutakko, Jyväskylä was the last factory started by Wilhelm Schauman, an engineer from Jakobstad who started with sawmilling and ended up running a big diversified industry company. He died before production started in 1912, but successors continued with the mill and created one of the plywood mills that continues production today - although its location has changed.

Plywood production moved away from Lutakko in 1995, and three years later most of the building were demolished. Some were saved and converted to various uses. Our exploration trips to this place were rudely interrupted by the guard, every two times we were in the mill. That's why photographing it practically failed.
