Oy Suomen Vanutehdas-Finnwad wadding factory, Tuusula
colourline

Finnwad's factory in Jokela was built in 1920's. It's field was hygiene and medical care products, a business which has seen a major centralization during last decades. Therefore the factory in Jokela became one of those, that were replaced by new and much more efficient plants somewhere in the far East in the 1990's. The building is now empty and it awaits for future, which will probably bring either conversion to flats, or demolition.

dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts28 Welcome to Jokela! A similar writing, only extended with the target audience (niggers, gays, civil service faggots and the disabled) in Penttilä, Joensuu became famous, when the Finnish telly reported about the place's "politically" active youth some time ago. So this is Jokela, "Joensuu of Southern Finland".
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts26 Entrance to the Fourth Reich.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts27 Factory's facade seen from the street. The fact that windows are plywooded, seems promising for the future of the building. In Silent Wall's photos, taken roughly a year earlier, the windows were uncovered. Apparently, city wants to keep the estate in as good shape as possible.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts24 A bit unusual, square and very thin but yet tall chimney stack stands at the backyard.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts23 Securitas, police, Supo! A prisoner's obviously escaping!!!

Seriously, the prison-related tag might be inspired by the fact that there is a prison in Jokela. It's been converted from an old match factory. Will this building become the new prison block?
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts25 This wing is newer than the original building, which is much neater. This simple and dull limestone brick extension ought to be demolished, should the original factory be converted and preserved.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts01 All of the sudden, we're in the factory's office premises. Everything has been taken away. Empty and boring.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts02 Negative thing in boarding the windows is that the interior is now practically pitch black. Even this staircase with entrances to production halls and offices was dark without torches.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts03 Production hall one.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts04 Production hall one. Nothing here either, unless broken glass counts.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts05 Third large hall and just as little details. There is a nice spiral staircase and nice coloured pipes, anyway.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts06 Boiler room in strange artificial light.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts07 A door in a door - what an invention.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts08 All doors leading to the production halls are old and heavy, fire-proof and coarse looking. They suite well to such place.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts09 Wiring diagram in the distribution board cabin states the exact name of the company that used to run the factory.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts10 Ladies' room.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts11 Stairs to the first floor are tidy.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts12 Really heavy doors and additional bars in front of them... why?
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts14 Large room on the first floor, which has last been used by some kitchen furnishing firm.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts15 This passage takes down to the yard.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts16 Painted floor.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts17 These guys are not from Jokela.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts18 Automated door it seems to be.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts22 More blue doors, or actually shutters.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts20 One more door, which is shit. It says so in the tag. Perhaps writer was frustrated, because the door is locked. Whatever lurks behind will remain a mystery.
dm-tuu_nazi_vanuts21 Only from inside you can seen the nice shape and screen division of the windows. It is unbeliavanle that only two screens have been hit. Others are unbroken.
