The Sawmill of Isosanta, Pori
colourline

Pori is a city living of heavy industry and shipping on west coast of Finland. So far the only decommissioned factory that we know of there is this sawmill, situated on Isosanta island since 1862. Most of the operating time the sawmill was owned by the famous Rosenlew company. Since 1950's there was no sawing or related functions and the place was amended to a boat shelter - Have I heard this story before?

Because the large building reveals valuable boats the place is - or has been - guarded, according to the stickers on the windows. We didn't find clarity for this during the quick visit, but we didn't go inside either. Later with more time, maybe.

The mill is big for a traditional sawmill.
Admirable architecture. Windows were mostly intact, a few missed glass.
Looking closely you can see here an old style factory gate bicycle holder. Also an earthmover is around, the other side of the big yard was full of them.
The power station which had no broken windows, tags etc. at all. A bad sign. The smoke stack's been cut.
