| Ironworks in Mathildedal, Perniö |
Mathildedal's ironworks are relatively young, established around 1850. Connection to the nearby iroworks of Teijo is direct, the two factories had the same manager for several decades. Later Mathildedal was developed into a machine workshop that produced engines, steamers and other heavy products. The area is currently going through conversion to something else, but exactly what is still unclear.

These residential buildings are in top shape now. The transformer station is still a bit unfinished.
A building bigger than the others stands aged in the center of the area.
Same just a bit closer.
Wooden wing of the building.
Other side of the building. The multi storey interior would've been interesting to check out, but it wasn't possible easily, that's why a bit morose look here.
This tiny building serves as a warehouse. Inside it was split to sections with chicken fence.
Inside the small building. It was probably once a charcoal oven, as the brick walls inside are very sooty and shape of the building resembles one.
Ohyeah! Looks like someone made a henhouse of it.
Obstacles at the entrance. This building's got electricity too.
The puddling mill is the one in front, behind it is the roller mill. Windows are covered with plastic.
Front yard.
Decayed front side.
This dam canal was excavated later than the roller mill that it underpasses. Water flows but the turbine wheel is missing.
Entering the roller mill wasn't too brain nor body taxing, although they had attempted to close it from visitors for now. Here's old production equipment.
Mains switches are not of the most recent type. The roof has collapsed. It's dark because the roof's been covered carefully with tarpaulins.
Open model furnace in the roller mill.
It was moody inside the mills. The old windows are just nice.
Doors connecting the buildings from inside seen from the puddling section.
This building has roof, but it's about the time they renovate it too.
A product of Mathildedal's Werkstad. Small, operating combustion engine encountered in Ramsöö, May 2002.
