DM visited Hieta roughly a week after the fire had raged. There was no longer smoke or curious locals so we checked what could still be checked.
Machines, the two originals and later installed third enforcer stood at the ruins. They were the only things to have lasted the heat of fire.
Atleast now the exact shape of the Bolinders of Hieta could be seen. They looked like this.
This Bolinder's gone to heaven?
Fire had fried the nearby trees. It's otherwise very unusual to find brown birches in July.
The wagons which had been stacked next to the sawmill had faced the fate of the mill.
This corner had changed most dramatically. Formerly the reeking, dark and exciting basement, now had sunshine all around.
No idea what this was. It was probably hidden somewhere in the structures until the fire exposed it.
Piping had also now been exposed.
Fire alley seen from basement's side.
The magic cauldron which would cook toxic soups, now but a rusty vessel.
The iron chimney was standing, but it's support wires had gone loose. Additionally, the masoned root part had suffered so badly that without a doubt it wouldn't see the next summer.
After a long time, eventually a chance to visit the power station. What a pity to see it is such a state.
The garage. Atleast one aluminum boat was destroyed by the fire, the one that's buried under charred wood here. The bigger red and beige boat, which was also stored here, was luckily by the lake and survived.
This set of boxes looked familiar. Just the colour had changed a lot.
Generator looked pretty much the same old, but painting had suffered.
Still the same maker.
Everything made of wood was destroyed in the power station also.
I recall this was a starter.
Someone had already brought the relatively new phenomena, cheap imported beer cans, to the power station.
Only corner where you could find some darkness was the boiler's feeding level. But it wasn't pitch blackness like it used to be.
Hmmm.. Very strange figure had appeared to the wall since last visit.. Or wait. Was it us?!
Steamer was surrounded by sawdust of the collapsed roof structures.
Manufacturer's plate of the steam machine.
Ohoh... After typical midsummer events, you can find some surprises - even years later!
This fuel storage room used to be the unofficial entrance before the end times. Now there was no roof.
