Working class houses of the sawmill, Mikkeli
colourline

Until the year 2007 there was a puny municipality called Haukivuori between Mikkeli and Pieksämäki. With only about 2000 inhabitants there wasn't much industry, but a lot of lakes and forest, and one sawmill. Close to it are houses where its labour, and later people we could call difficult to house have lived. Nowadays they're empty, optionlessly waiting for demolition.

dm-hau_hasaresidenssit21 Nice house. This one is closer to the road, as the old telephone wire pole shows.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit12 Each house has six apartments, so actually it hasn't been very luxury atleast what comes to space.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit22 Finding a sooter who would dare to climb to that roof would not be easy. All wooden parts that are not sheltered are practically rotten through and through.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit17 Someone's 96 abandoned quite a few years ago.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit09 Biggest problem in entering the houses was walking. Stairs like these really can't bear a man's weight any more, so some veranda's needed to be climbed over the sides. Everything under roofs was perfectly fine.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit23 Stig in..
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit01 One of the cleaner kitchens.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit02 Classic He-Te-Ka.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit03 First floor apartments are a bit bigger then the ones on bottom floor. Large windows provide scenery to neighbour's residence.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit04 We couldn't give the final verdict of what is written here. AITL, AML or AM?
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit05 Plastering is dropping off, which is understandable, but paint hasn't peeled at all.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit06 From what we saw, the last residents of these houses have probably not been workers, but more bottle consumers. I don't believe they could have afforded to drink Scotch whiskey. Well, maybe it was a gift or something.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit07 This radiotube was just the start of cool finds in this upstairs apartment, which was the most interesting of all what comes to junk left.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit08 This Mr. had a family in another town who had written him a bunch of letters. Why were they left here? Same goes for the old photos. Interesting stuff, like watching the bold & the beautiful, except much more exciting and real.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit11 If you understand Finnish, here are some of the problems that they had to deal with. Family is worst, like we say in Scandinavia.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit13 This one was found from a downstairs apartment. Fine for carrying an offensive weapon in 1998. The guy has had many homes, one in Pieksämäki, one in prison, one here as late as in 1999.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit14 Wallpapers have been ripped, perhaps someone needed to light an oven or something? Coat hook screwed on the wall has preserved some of the wallpaper.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit15 Happy father's day, daddy.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit18 Another upstairs apartment, another kind of dweller. She has read Neuvostoliitto, the most reformist magazine ever published in our country. The article from 1981 tells about revolutionary Soviet technology. BN-600, the fast-neutron reactor had been recently commissoned in Belojarsk. Even unbiasedly looking, this actually was quite a major event in nuclear technology.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit16 Consumption milk from the end of 1980's. In my opinion this is one of the neatest packages Valio have ever used (especially the blue one).
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit19 From this find I would guess also resident of this downstairs apartment was female.
dm-hau_hasaresidenssit20 Haukivuori, of course. Yep, yep..
