Very Old Picture Of The Sawmill

The sawmill in Varikonniemi, Hämeenlinna was built in 1873 and operated until around WWII. For last years it was owned by OTK cooperation store, but even they didn't continue using an outdated facility for very long. Today the actual mill has vanished, but some brick buildings continue to remind of the pioneering steam powered facility. The small buildings have been emptied so there isn't too much to see inside, but still every now and then the boardings have given up to actions of curious minds. The former industrial plot is now woody park type refreshment area so walking and hanging around there isn't forbidden in any way. It's not too interesting either.

Something worth checking are two ruined buildings a bit apart of the power station and drying department. There you can find tags, post-fire semi-indoor garden and smashed places.
